For collectors and lovers of fine art photography, owning an original photo is always a special moment. In traditional film photography, you will be the only person to hold this copy fresh out of the lab where the photos are enlarged in a darkroom from the negatives. Indeed, each photo, color or black and white (baryta) print will always be very slightly different from one number to another because they are made by hand.
To get to your living room, many steps are necessary: Choice of film, shooting, photo development (the negatives), production of contact sheets, choice of silver paper, printing in the photo laboratory and finally the framing. Each step is then key to your final fine art print.
Many alternative techniques and processes can be used, such as the Fresson process, which we also offer at La Maison de l'argentique.
