Art photographies
Cyril Manzini
Since 2017, Cyril has devoted himself to film photography and discovered a new relationship with time. He expresses this through his use of blurs and slow exposures to create images that particularly sublimate women, rendering them both ghostly and inaccessible within a poetic universe. During his travels, he draws inspiration, marvels, sharpens his colorist's eye, and explores a different relationship with time, particularly in Asia. His photographs seem to come from another era.
He works with 35mm film and a large camera (4x5 inches). From the negatives, he creates the color and black and white prints himself in his laboratory's darkroom; it's a precise process that perpetuates this traditional craft.
Using Polaroid cameras allows him to complete his search for images with pastel, desaturated, and dreamlike colors, creating a unique finish. His eye, drawn to the great masters of painting, led him in his search for aesthetics to create various advertising campaigns, fashion magazine editorials, and personal photoshoots.
Thus, in 2020, he founded La Maison de l'Argentique, an online art photography gallery. In 2025, he joined the Fondation Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris.
